I’ll be part of a lunchtime talk on our panel at SXSW next week. Info below:

Straight from their triumphant panel at SXSW Interactive, Studio residents Chloe MeineckPeter BennettTom Metcalfe and Studio Producer Verity McIntosh are back to share with us the panel that they gave at this year’s festival – Subtle Interfaces: Designing for Calm Tech.

Writer Bruce Sterling tweeted “It may be impossible to get more British-design than this”…we’re going to take that as a compliment!

About the panel:

Some of the world’s best technologies do one thing brilliantly. This panel brings together leading UK creatives and researchers who are developing products and experiences that are calm, slow and often magical. When we let go of trying to be all things to all people, we make space for imaginative interfaces and disruptive ideas.

Our panellists embrace cutting edge technologies, working with physical and digital materials. They design products that respond to specific social contexts; ranging from the personal relationships that we have with objects in our homes, to the social displacement inherent when moving to a care home, to our many and varied experiences of the cities we live in.

This panel is kindly supported by Invest Bristol and Bath and UK Trade & Investment
